Tin Steel Strips
|
Tin steel
strips consists of unalloyed, low carbon steel, the surface of
which is coated with a layer of pure tin.
Two ways
of tinning are available :
hot
dipped tinning
electrolytic
tinning
Tinned
steel strips is noted for its surface coating, resistance to
corrosion, good stocking properties, as well as for food
compatibility

Electrolytic Tinplate
|
Where as
electrolyitically tinned steel strip was originally used mainly
in the packaging industry, its outstanding properties have now
opened up applications for it in all branches of industry.
To
stabilise the tin coating a passivating process is applied on to
the tinned surfaces.

Description -

Electrolytic
Tinplate is low Carbon, mild steel coated by electro-deposition.
The tin coating can be deposited either equally or differentially
on each surface in a range of thickness. The tin used has a purity
of not less than 99.85%
